How long does it take to get my pictures back?
After payment has been arranged or made, we can have your prints back from the lab in as little as 24 hours or as long as 3 days depending on workload and what day the order is placed. Proofs, Bulk 4x6's (more than 20) and special products like a deck of cards or a calendar may take around 2-4 weeks depending on the product and processing time.

How long does processing take?
Most orders can be processed in one week or less. Orders which require extensive or extra retouching or background removal may take more than two weeks.

How many pictures will you take during my session?
The sky is the limit--well, not really, the amount of memory we have on our computer or memory cards is the limit. Whether it takes 5 pictures or 500 pictures, we won't stop at a specific number, first and foremost is to make sure we get the pictures that you want and will make you happy.

How many pictures will you take at my wedding?
As with portrait sessions, we don't stop at any specific number. We may take 1000 pictures at your wedding, you choose the best of those to have printed as proofs and or enlargements. Our limit is the memory we have available on our computer and in our memory cards.

On average, we take 50-75 pictures, per photographer, per hour during a wedding.  This number does vary based on the amount of downtime we experience during your 'big day.'

Bridal Tip: With over 500 or 1000 pictures to choose from, you might not need 20 copies of Aunt Mildred or Uncle Jed sitting at the reception. Print only those pictures which you feel will add to your collection.  If you need more copies of Aunt Mildred or Uncle Jed, we can always print more.

Do you currently offer online proofing/ordering?
We do offer online proofing and ordering, it has become the main staple of the business from portraits to weddings. The ease of use, the speed of delivering pictures to you, your family and your friends. Our galleries can be password protected for your peace of mind, knowing that only those you share the password with will have access to viewing and ordering pictures.

Prior to your event/wedding we ask for your permission to pass out pic-cards.  What these are, are business-card-sized handouts, which direct people to the website address where they may find your prints (http://prints.marxportraits.com) with instructions on viewing/ordering prints from your event.  If Aunt Mildred wants 20 pictures of herself and the bride/groom to pass around to her friends at her Bridge Tournament, she can order them online, and have them delivered right to her door.

Can I choose 4x6 proofs instead of online proofing?
All of our packages include free online proofing and ordering at no additional charge. Actual 4x6 proofs may be ordered in addition to any package that doesn't offer them at a discounted rate - there is a minimum number of prints which must be ordered to receive the discounted price.

Can I get high resolution images on a cd/dvd so I can print them myself?
Yes you can. You may elect to receive a cd/dvd with both high and low resolution images for you viewing/printing pleasure. The high resolution images will allow you to print good quality pictures while the low resolution images will be perfect for uploading to your favorite online social networking site, like Myspace or Facebook. (additional charges may apply)

Do you make DVD slideshows and what is your turnaround time?
Yes, we can make DVD photo slideshows with the custom music that you give us. Our turnaround time is up to 4 weeks for a basic DVD and up to 6 weeks for a more complex DVD with custom menu's and full DVD authoring done by Marx Portraits. We provide custom cases and inserts to suit your event and offer custom DVD labels as well.  Find out more by selecting products/pricing from the menu above.

If I need reprints made in 5 years from now, what do I need to do?
Just contact us. We never delete any of our previos projects. All we need are the image numbers and you can receive reprints within a few days. We know that stuff happens, pictures get ruined through no fault of our own, weather, accidents, and acts of God, that's why we keep a copy of all images in a secure location never to be deleted. (We may not be held responsible should our copies of your images become corrupt or be destroyed, through no intentional acts by us, after your order has been filled and completed.)

Do you display all of your work online?
We do not display everything online. We have clients that specifically ask us not to reveal their images to the public. We do ask however, to use your images at our discretion for advertising and promotional needs and to display for future clients. Consideration may be received for granting us the right to sell your images as stock. Ask us for more info.

Will you travel out of the state/country?
We are willing to travel anywhere within the United States. We do not do international work at this time.

Do you offer a military discount?
We offer a substantial 15% off for all military personnel and their immediate famlies. We must ask for current military or veteran ID. To be eligible for this discount the Military member/veteran must be one of the main subjects of the photoshoot.  (If it's a wedding, the member must be the bride or groom.  If it's a family portrait, the member must be in the portrait. If it's a senior portrait for his/her son or daughter, the member must be present at the shoot or must be the one paying.

Military Discounts are the only discounts we offer that may be combined with other offers.

Can you remove the wrinkles in my face, remove acne or improve my look?
Yes, we can remove wrinkles, acne and make your skin look like a model's. We can thin out your face, widen your smile, open your eyes--all within reason.

Our church would like to two fundraisers in the same year, what is your policy?
We are strict on offering fundraisers to the same organization/or same group of people one time during a 12 month period.  If you host a fundraiser with us or any other company in July of 2008, you may not host another fundraiser until July of 2009.  This is done to ensure the success of each fundraiser.  Most client's do not need their pictures taken more than once per year, while most families go even longer between portrait sessions.  This policy ensures that your organization will maximize it's success with each fundraiser it holds.

How much money can we expect to make by hosting a fundraiser?
The amount of money brought in from each fundraiser is determined by the amount of people that you bring in to utilize our service, and the number of orders as well as the size of the orders. Organizations may receive 30-70% of the profits within 1-2 weeks of the event (just as soon as all checks clear).

Can we hold a fundraiser next week?
We would love to host a fundraiser for you next week, however, people need time to prepare, pick their clothes, save up the money and clear their schedules. We can get started now, and hold a fundraiser in roughly 30 days.

Do you work with models?
We are not currently looking for models to work with us on a regular basis.  Occasionally we may recruit a model for a particular photoshoot through different recruiting agencies.  We do offer modeling packages which will provide basic headshots and bodyshots for distribution by the model to talent agencies.  At times, we may offer models a TFP (trade-for-prints) opportunity in which we trade the printed pictures to the model for permission to use those pictures in many ways.  This works out well for both parties, we have more sample pictures of our work and they have something to promote themselves by as well.

What rights does a model have to give to Marx Portraits?
We ask that models grant us full rights to the images with rights to use them for advertising, promotions, to show to new clients and the rights to sell your pictures as stock.  Consideration wil be provided to the model for any and all work done on behalf of Marx Portraits.
